Diana visited Finningley Quarry near Doncaster recently with the local liberal Democrat candidate Edwin Simpson. Approximately 300,000 tonnes of aggregate is extracted per annum at the site which has won awards for its best practice in restoring the land after extraction has been completed.
After the visit, Diana said:
"I was pleased to be able to visit Finningley Quarry. This is a remarkable operation. I was particularly impressed by the way Lafrage have been able to restore the land after their quarrying work, in turn creating natural habitats and enhancing the biodiversity of the area."
