Leeds City Councillor Jamie has been selected to fight the Pudsey Constituency for the Liberal Democrats in the 2010 General Election. He believes passionately in protecting the green belt in the constituency from developments. The town centres of Horsforth and Pudsey need investment. Jamie is fighting for help for local businesses. He is also fighting for more investment in mental health services.
As a City Councillor since May 2008 Jamie has fought for better recycling facilities in the city and devotes much of his time to helping constituents with problems. Jamie has actively campaigned against the expansion of Leeds Bradford Airport which will effect many people in the Pudsey Constituency. He previously worked for Greg Mulholland, Liberal Democrat MP for Leeds North West.
Jamie is the youngest Councillor on Leeds City Council and has worked hard to promote youth involvement in democracy. He believes that people of all ages should be involved in improving the City of Leeds. He is also a school governor at a local primary school. He has a degree from Cardiff University, where he studied European Politics.
